A light approach to pain

The combo laser cannot fix everything; however, it does offer a great deal of pain relief and resolution of injuries.

by Victoria Bowmann —

When pain comes on — whether it is a low back ache, a hand or wrist problem from overuse, a headache or even painful feet — do you reach for an over-the-counter pain pill? Many people do, but relief is usually only temporary. We hope the pain goes away, until the hours pass and we awaken in the morning to find our discomfort has returned. Sometimes it has even worsened.

There is another way to deal with pain: the combination of low-level laser light and micro-stimulation. Having worked with this great device for about a year, I am amazed and delighted with the results. It is FDA approved, non-prescription, inexpensive and it works in 93 percent of cases.

Approximately six weeks ago, I hurt my low back and foot and could hardly walk. Of course, the injury occurred at night, when no doctors were available. I asked myself, Do I want to pop a pill or grab my combo laser, since it has both micro-stimulation and laser light? After a few 20-minute sessions, the pain resolved.

My three horses respond well to this, too. One of them, Sparkles, was startled on a trail ride and went down on her front knee. By the time we got back to the barn, she was lame. After two 10-minute sessions with the combo laser and keeping her away from her barn mates for the night, she was as good as new. Normally, she would have been unfit to ride for about two weeks.

What I appreciate the most is having the knowledge and a tool to help myself immediately, without needing to mask the pain until I can get help. The combo laser cannot fix everything; however, it does offer a great deal of pain relief and resolution of injuries.
