Classy but sassy — A new hair outlook for spring

By seeing the magnificence in the client, that the client sometimes cannot see in themselves, a stylist can express their client’s internal beauty in a way that causes their external beauty to radiate and shine in the world.

People always ask, “What is the latest trend in hair styles?” and “What kind of style looks good on me?” Spring is just about upon us, and the time may be right to begin thinking about a new look.

Very simply, the style and color that will be in fashion this spring is you. Styles come and styles go, but you will always be you. Long hair, medium hair, short hair — all are in. Blonde, brunette, red, gray — they are in, too.

What women really want is a style that is classy but sassy. They want their hairstyle and color to come alive and boldly declare, “This is who I am!” They want healthy, shining, youthful looking hair.

For the most part, people want simple styles that are easy to manage in today’s hectic world, but styles that make them look good and feel beautiful. Isn’t it interesting that when you feel great, the others around you seem to feel great too? When you sit down in that chair, it’s not about the hair anymore — it’s all about you, the total person.

Have you ever taken a really good look at yourself in the mirror? How you see yourself when you examine your reflection has a lot to do with your state of mind at the time. You could be in a great mood and think you look fantastic, or be in a bad mood and feel like the least attractive person on the planet. Your mood always determines how you see your own true beauty.

They say you can never completely understand another person because you can’t see through that person’s eyes, but some believe the key to the heart and soul are straight through the eyes. By listening to his or her clients, a hairstylist can begin to see that client through their own eyes and achieve a “look” that helps them feel good every day.

For a hairstylist, the key to unlocking a client’s true and lasting beauty is to be that person’s mirror — really listening to them and understanding their deepest concerns about their lives and how they see themselves. Not until the hairdresser can reach that depth of understanding about the client can they become co-creators in the beauty process. At that point, they are able to reflect back to their client the beauty they can, or should, see in themselves.

When designing a look for a client, the best stylist will design a look that truly is one-of-a-kind. By seeing the magnificence in the client, that the client sometimes cannot see in themselves, a stylist can express their client’s internal beauty in a way that causes their external beauty to radiate and shine in the world.

A good stylist will teach each unique client how to use the tools of beauty. They will want every client to be able to achieve the same great look on day two, so that when they go out into the world and people ask how they achieved their stunning look, they have a great and simple answer.

Hair stylists have the best job in the world, because they can put smiles in their clients’ hearts by seeing their clients’ beauty through their clients’ eyes. They help design an outer look that complements the inner beauty. It is not about style anymore; it’s about life.
