Where attention goes, energy flows

As you learn to listen to the body’s subtle (and not so subtle) messages, the vital energy or life force guides you into your own healing process.

by Khayriyyah Savannah —

Tuning in to your energy through focused breathing and other practices such as yoga, tai chi, meditation, or stillness and contemplation, is the beginning of healing imbalances in the mind/body. Where attention goes, energy flows; the mind begins to heal the body through intention. As you learn to listen to the body’s subtle (and not so subtle) messages, the vital energy or life force guides you into your own healing process.

The next step is recognizing resistance. Resistance is a sure sign you are on the right path when it comes to healing. Resistance, which manifests as pain or denial, is just stuck energy revealing itself to the mind/body. The point of resistance is where you make your choice to heal. Moving stuck energy requires releasing that which is connected to it, such as old hurts, negative beliefs and other emotional toxins.

Sometimes what needs releasing is the image you have of yourself, or how you think you should be. This is the next step: acceptance of your current condition. Acceptance dissolves resistance. You must accept yourself as you are in order to learn from what life has given you. Accepting responsibility for your own healing process transforms the victim of dis-ease into a healer.

For the healer, life is full of helpful people, information and possibilities. When it comes to healing, you decide. You are your own best healer. Begin tuning in, and enjoy the journey. Let your healing intention be your guide.
